Role overview

Ashley Louise Consulting are working in partnership with a well-established precision engineering company in Nottingham that is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller & Programmer. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, this is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing business offering long-term career prospects and the chance to work on high-quality precision components.

Responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision engineered components.
  • Create, edit and optimise CNC milling programmes.
  • Produce one-off and batch components from engineering drawings.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and workholding.
  • Carry out tool changes and offsets.
  • Perform first-off inspections and quality checks.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Maintain programme documentation and production records.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a CNC Miller.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • CAD/CAM programming experience is desirable.
  • Experience with Hurco, Haas, Mazak or Fanuc controls is desirable.
  • Experience working with Haas or Matsuura machinery is desirable.
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is desirable.
