Ashley Louise Consulting are working in partnership with a well-established precision engineering company in Nottingham that is looking to recruit an experienced Laser Cutting Operator. Due to continued growth and increased demand, this is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor laser cutting machines.
  • Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.
  • Carry out machine set-ups, tooling changes and machine adjustments.
  • Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment.
  • Ensure all products meet customer and company quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any production issues.
  • Complete production records and documentation accurately.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable, flexible and committed approach to work.
  • Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment is desirable.
  • Experience within sheet metal manufacturing is desirable.
  • FLT licence or overhead crane experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques is desirable.
