Ashley Louise Consulting are working in partnership with a well-established precision engineering company in Nottingham that is looking to recruit an experienced Laser Cutting Operator. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and monitor laser cutting machines.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.
- Carry out machine set-ups, tooling changes and machine adjustments.
- Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment.
- Ensure all products meet customer and company quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance and report any production issues.
- Complete production records and documentation accurately.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, flexible and committed approach to work.
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment is desirable.
- Experience within sheet metal manufacturing is desirable.
- FLT licence or overhead crane experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques is desirable.
